Good Evening Everyone... So I took off this afternoon to Home Depot. I went in with the intention of buying one quart of paint. I left with a little more than that... I purchased a doorbell button, new shower head, paint supplies, and a NEW LIGHT FIXTURE for the bathroom. I decided to play Mr. Fix It and Mr. Home Improvement, and I enjoyed every bit of it. I sadly do not have a picture of the ugly light that was in my bathroom before, but I do have a picture of what the bathroom looked like. A BIG THANKS to Hope for her assistance with the painting and doing various tasks (like standing over the toilet trying to hold the light fixture while I rigged the mount to the wall that was rigged previously by the former owners.). So, I was pretty excited. After getting the main stuff done we ran to Wal-Mart for me to buy the bathroom accessories. For being a straight guy, I didn't do bad. Everything was just an "eyeball" job. I didn't take color swatches to Home Depot and Walmart trying to match colors, I just picked them all out separately and prayed they'd go together when I got home... and I think they do. This was also the first light fixture I've ever hung/wired. It wasn't very difficult, but was proud since I've never done it before, and I did it all by myself, and managed not to get killed! So, today has been a good day. I've managed to wake up, take a shower and go visit the family back home. Now I'm back at my house and I think I'm going to tackle the guest bath for painting and decorating. Later I'll probably clean up the yard some more and possibly clean out the garage. The former owners of the home didn't do such a great job with the yard, so pictures are current on delay while I work on landscaping and yard improvements in general. I held off buying furniture for the most part so I could buy something nicer. I'm thinking I'll go this month and order a living room set from Sofa Express. I'm also working on finding a dining room set and new bedroom set. I got paid and got a rebate check today! So I'm thinking I might go out and buy some little things for the inside of the house. Who knows... If I end up finishing the bathroom, I'll post pictures! Well, gotta run. - J -

Welcome, to the new blog. I wanted to open the new site on June 1, 2006. The beginning of the month always feels like a good time to start new things, so why not open the new blog at the beginning of the month.
