My grandma's 80th Birthday Party was today. It was awesome to see all the family together since we all live across three different states. I got to see my cousin Erik and his fiancée Diana and her son Brian. This, was pretty cool because Brian is my age, so I am crossing my fingers everything goes ok and they get married. I could use another cousin, especially one MY age. Well, step-cousin, but still... he'd be part of the family. Then of course my cousin Heather and her two kids, Bethany and Brandon. It was totally cool to see all of them since they live in NY and don't get to visit. I am thinking that maybe later in April I will take a trip up there for the weekend to see them all, it'd be totally cool.
Then tonight we all went to Steak and Shake, which was cool as always. Then went back to the hotel and chatted for a bit. After that I went home and that brings me to now. Where I am VERY tired and I am going to bed.
Later,
Johnny

Well, Terri Schiavo is dead. I must say that personally I believe in life. After hearing how she responded (ie, closing her eyes when she was last prayed with) and the proof that she was aware of her surroundings, made me wonder just how "brain dead" she was. I think it's a totally sad case and don't think it's fair in the least. However, another point to put up is if she was this active, and her parents said she needs a second chance and could be worked with and such... where was that attitude for the last 15 years?
I too believe that she wasn't truly "artificially kept alive". She breathed and functioned, with the exception of eating, on her own from my understanding. Well, I know a little four year old girl who for most of her life has been fed through a feeding tube; so does this mean she’s a vegetable? No, she just can’t eat like the rest of us. Also, she’s not considered to be “artificially kept alive” so why was Schivo?
The thing I do not agree with is the attention this case got from the news media. My uncle's wife (aka, my aunt) had this almost same thing happen to her mother. After her mom became sick and ended up in the hospital and was being kept alive by breathing assistance and/or medication her brother obtained the POA (Power of Attorney). After the insurance decided that they weren’t going to pay, my aunt’s brother decided to stopped feeding her and cut the medication and the breathing treatments. Then after that gave her some drugs to kill the pain, and then later, she died. Again, her mom was talking and responding and was fully aware of who was around and they flat out killed her. So what makes Terri Schivo any more special than my aunt’s mom? Oh wait, that's right... money. From my understanding her husband received a good deal of money and such from her.
Well, that's my view on the whole thing. Now of course, until something better comes along this is all you will hear on CNN, MSNBC and FOX for a good long while... but, it's not like I have that much time to watch tv anyways.
Well... I am out for the evening...
