Coming to you all live from my living room. Well, I am getting better… slowly. I had a few people call to check on me! So that was real nice. I’ve made the decision to take the week off from work. I think me going outside in the weather is the LAST thing that I need. Maybe I will do just a bunch of planning of stuff at home. I just thought I would let you all know that I am still living! Well, off to watch “The Screen Savers” on G4 Tech TV…

Well, quick post. I am sicker than all get out. I was woken up this morning with a slightly swelled face, couldn’t breathe, couldn’t talk, and can’t hear out of my right ear. So, after sitting up and trying to breathe, I finally got my voice back and the swelling has gone down. I found out that my cold has screwed up my sinuses causing my right ear to be thrown off… and will be until I can get decongested. Then I ran out of medicine this morning at 6 AM when all this happened. So, I got dressed and drank enough water that I could at least speak and drove to Wal-Mart and got some Sudafed and Tylenol Cold. So between the two I am getting better, but still feel like crap. So, I most likely won’t be on the phone or computer tonight… so leave me comments and e-mails and I will answer them later this week!

Back to xBox and TV and sleeping…

Keep it real,

Well, we made it home. I didn’t do bad, Hendersonville, TN to Columbus, OH with a stop for McDonalds (eat in) and Fuel and then a drink later… all in 6.5 Hours. Well, the Grand Ole Opry rocked! Nashville on Saturday is crazy though… lol. I loved every bit of it! Then church was nothing short of awesome. They have such an awesome church, I wish I lived in TN sometime, just for that fact… but anyways, just thought I would inform the Xanga community that I am back in the City of Columbus…

Live from Nashville, TN!

That’s right people, I made it down here. Now, I am actually staying in Hendersonville, TN…. but we’re just right oustide Nashville, it’s kind of a Suburb. Nothing like waking up and looking out the window to see the sun rising over the hills and all you see is fields and trees and a blue sky. SO DIFFERENT compaired to Ohio. Why is it we must have cloudy skies all the time? If I get the camera working I will try and snap some pictures before we leave. Tonight we’re going to the Grand Ole Opry… looks like a pretty good lineup tonight. The other awesome part is that my uncle’s borther is playing tonight! So, in a way I am distantly related through marriage to semi-famous people! So tune into GAC and watch the Grand Ole Opry and look for Bill Andersons’s Slide Guitar, Gutiar, Mandolin, etc… player… aka, my Uncle’s brother.

Found another cool song I like, “Jessie’s Girl”. I have the Rick Springfield version and I also have the new Freakin A version… both are sweet.

Well… I am going to get off of here and enjoy the sunrise…

See Ya’ All…

Found a new song I really like…< ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Shut Up

Simple Plan

There you go

You’re always so right

It’s all a big show

It’s all about you

You think you know

What everyone needs

You always take time

To criticize me

It seems like everyday

I make mistakes

I just can’t get it right

It’s like I’m the one

You love to hate

But not today

So shut up, shut up, shut up

Don’t wanna hear it

Get out, get out, get out

Get out of my way

Step up, step up, step up

You’ll never stop me

Nothing you say today

Is gonna bring me down

There you go

You never ask why

It’s all a big lie

Whatever you do

You think you’re special

But I know, and I know

And I know, and we know

That you’re not

You’re always there to point

Out my mistakes

And shove them in my face

It’s like I’m the one

You love to hate

But not today

So shut up, shut up, shut up

Don’t wanna hear it

Get out, get out, get out

Get out of my way

Step up, step up, step up

You’ll never stop me

Nothing you say today

Is gonna bring me down

Is gonna bring me down

Will never bring me down

Don’t tell me who I should be

And don’t try to tell me what’s right for me

Don’t tell me what I should do

I don’t wanna waste my time

I’ll watch you fade away

So shut up, shut up, shut up

Don’t wanna hear it

Get out, get out, get out

Get out of my way

Step up, step up, step up

You’ll never stop me

Nothing you say today

Is gonna bring me down

Shut up, shut up, shut up

Don’t wanna hear it

Get out, get out, get out

Get out of my way

Step up, step up, step up

You’ll never stop me

Nothing you say today

Is gonna bring me down

Bring me down

{shut up, shut up, shut up}

Won’t bring me down

{shut up, shut up, shut up}

Bring me down

{shut up, shut up, shut up}

Won’t bring me down

Shut up, shut up, shut up

Many moons ago… ok, well… many months ago I was posting a Christian devotional on here for encouragement for the readers of this Xanga. Tonight after reading a devotional and reading some of “The Message” I’d like to post my own rendition of the devotional tonight.

Today’s devotional is based on this passage:
“Late that day he said to them, “Let’s go across to the other side.” They took him in the boat as he was. Other boats came along. A huge storm came up. Waves poured into the boat, threatening to sink it. And Jesus was in the stern, head on a pillow, sleeping! They roused him, saying, “Teacher, is it nothing to you that we’re going down?”

Awake now, he told the wind to pipe down and said to the sea, “Quiet! Settle down!” The wind ran out of breath; the sea became smooth as glass. Jesus reprimanded the disciples: “Why are you such cowards? Don’t you have any faith at all?”

They were in absolute awe, staggered. “Who is this, anyway?” they asked. “Wind and sea at his beck and call!” “
– Mark 4:35-41 (The Message Translation)

Many know this story all to well, yet they don’t act on it. This story very much applies to our every day life. Is it not true that every time we seem to walk into the storm we look up to God and scream and wave our arms and ask, “Where are you? Are you sleeping?” When God, in reality, is standing right next to you!

There will be times in life where God will immediately answer you and calms your storm. I’ve seen it happen for myself and I am sure others have too. Just like the disciples showing you that He’s ultimately in control of the situation.

Then there are times where God lets you go through this storm without Him immediately calming everything. Now, you’re probably scratching your head and asking, “Why would a loving God do this to us?” How else will you grow? If a child is carried all his life, he will never learn to walk. The same goes for us, if we’re carried through life we will never learn to deepen our walk. Also, is it not the hard times in life we cry out harder to God and desire deeply to draw closer to Him?

So, the next time life gets a little rough don’t think God’s not there. Have some faith!

Well, enjoy the food for thought…

Keep it real,

I am sitting here listening to a new song I discovered while running through the digital cable channels. There’s a new country song out called, “How Do You Get That Lonely”. It makes you think about people taking their lives. If you have the chance either watch the music video or get the song and listen to it. For being a non-christian song it makes you think about two things:
1. How much you’re worth to other people in this life, not to mention God.
2. How sometimes in life we ignore lonely feelings of those around us.

While we’re on the subject of music making you think. I also have been listening to this song called, “Let Them Be Little”. If you know me at all, you know I am very crazy about kids. I’ve always wanted kids but something never hit me until the other day. My friends have a grandchild who’s four, named Nick. Nick and I are buddies. The other day we went to Target and Nick and I held Nick’s hand as we walked towards the store. As I walked, all I could hear in my head was, “Let them be little.” It hit me that in a few short years this could be me, but with my own child. Anyways… just thinking….

Then tonight Heather and I had some deep conversations. Everything from spiritual to life in general. It is nice to have someone to talk about things. I guess Heather and I have never really disagreed about anything and we’ve been friends for a while and we’ve always had this trust that has just been there and is always there without us saying anything about it. So it was a good evening over all. So I am off to watch some more TV and work on the computer.

Take care all and God Bless,
John

Wednesday February 23, 2005

Tonight was fun. There’s nothing like just hopping in a car with one of your friends and no plans. We knew we wanted dinner… so we headed for somewhere. Then suddenly we got the idea, “let’s go to Buckeye Hall of Fame Cafe!” Well, looks like Wednesday is popular, and was packed. So then we headed off to find an Olive Garden. Well, couldn’t so we headed south since we were already that direction and ended up at Applebees. Nice place… good food… Then we ran to Walmart so Heather could get some stuff and then headed off to drop her back off. We stood around and talked for a bit. Great time… :-)

So anyways, that’s about it folks. I have tomorrow and Friday off! Exciting! So maybe I can accomplish some of these much needed goals.

Tuesday February 22, 2005

Well, tonight was fun. My friend Tabatha and I ran around the city of Columbus. I have to say that when we get together everything is random… quite funny. So I don’t have much to say. Tomorrow = Work. Then done for the week until Monday. So I will update tomorrow.

Tuesday February 22, 2005

Well here is some stuff that I’ve been pondering and working on…

1. My Xanga “Revolution”
– From day one I’ve had this Black and Red theme. Nice as it is and yes, nice it matches my car, but I think it is time to change. So March 30, 2005 is my two year Xanga Birthday. I’ve decided to work on a totally new and custom design for my Xanga.

2. Fix the MP3 Library
– You know, I imported like every CD I own and got some MP3s off of friends. I have come up with a total of 7500+ tracks. I need to go through and filter out what is duplicates and what is junk tracks. It does me no good to have an iPod if I can’t find the music. So this next month I am going to completely redo my MP3 Library.

3. Finish Mac Conversion
– I started converting my desktop data over to my laptop. However, I got like 1/4 of the way and got too busy to finish. So my goal BEFORE March is to get everything moved over.

4. Fix PDA and Cell Phone (Data)
– My PDA and Cell Phone is in such a mess right now. I never did get everything synced and all the information corrected. So I’d like to get all that stuff fixed and in sync.

5. Setup Quickbooks 5 on my PowerBook
– Doing billing in Word and doing paper account is for the birds when I have the software already on my laptop. So, I need to get that setup this week so I can begin entering data on customer accounts.

Well, that’s about all the pressing issues I need to do. So maybe I can get most of them done before the weekend. March hopefully will be more organized and go better than February did!

Keep it real,
J
