Sunday October 31, 2004

Well, just sitting here writing an e-mail to my special someone. Today was an awesome day! I went to visit some of my family this afternoon in Grove City, OH. So now that brings me to the current. I am sitting here writing while I am waiting to hear from a friend to see when we’re going to go hang out tonight. Anyways, just thought I would update.

Sunday October 31, 2004

Well, I am home from church. Thought I would put a post in here for my loyal readers. Church was nice, it was packed. I think this afternoon I am having a business meeting with a potential business partner, so hopefully that goes well. Then I am open to do whatever, so either catch me on AIM, Yahoo or call my cell phone.

Sunday October 31, 2004

Welcome everyone. Well tonigh was fun. I washed the car, which made me feel 100x better, since I was going cruising. Then my friend Hope and I went around acting like total dorks. We were hoping to pickup a few more people, but no one was to be found. So we went to dinner, I got new shoes, and then we went campaining for President Bush. Nothing like driving around on the freeway and holding up a huge Bush sign. I am sure we upset a few Kerry fans. So anyways, tomorrow afternoon/evening is wide open so let me know if anyone is interested in doing something. I do have a business meeting tomorrow, but after that I am free. So let me know!

P.S. I have no clue about the music, I hit shuffle and this is what came up.

Friday October 29, 2004

Went and saw Bush and Aronld tonight, I must say, TOTALLY AWESOME. I am so glad that I decided to go tonight. Well, Saturday still is open for anyone that is bored or wants to do something. Give me a ring and we’ll meet up somewhere.

So, anyways… I will try and post later. I am going to change clothes and surf the net a bit. Oh and by the way… 16 more days, and I WILL BE 18. A legal adult, missing the election by 12 days. That really stinks, but oh well.

Hello to everyone who is reading this but has never left a comment. What, did I catch you? Come on, how hard is it to click the little link at the bottom and leave me a line to know that you’ve been here. I obviously can identify everyone I know on my site meter, so I know I have new people looking at this and they won’t leave comments. So redeem yourself and leave a comment. I don’t care if you don’t know me, just leave a comment!< ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Anyways, just had to post that before I forgot.

ALERT: SOMEONE JOINED THE GRAND AM BLOG RING

Yeah, someone (no I didn’t pay them off or something) joined it. Just had to announce that. It was getting kind of lonely with just me and Tara on there. So if the dude who joined the ring, reads this… welcome.

Well, nothing much going on right now. It was a peaceful night overall. Got to talk to my girl, which is always makes the day wonderful. That is about it. I am working on a bunch of stuff for work. I will announce when some of the web projects go live and you all can see some of my work (and pass the word around that I am in the business, )

Later Days,

Gosh, I never get comments. Maybe I should party eveyr weekend, I’d actually get comments. Anyways, to clear up some confusion, I was partying around the City of Columbus. Friday Night is curising night in Circleville, though I rarely go. Saturday night, however, is the fun night up here. So if anyone gets bored on a Saturday give me a call, I am typically out somewhere being a fool or idiot.

Let’s see, last night I went out and was a fool again. I guess this is getting to be a weekly tradition. Nothing like getting so bored you go drive around with people just to drive around.

So, this weekend is looking open at the moment. Drop me an e-mail or give me a call if you want to do something.

Well the ACT testing went extremely well. I actually ran into one of my good friends, Heather. We we’re in the same testing room and got to hang out during the break. That made things much easier on the both of us. Then Heather, me, and Hope all hung out that day at the Circleville Pumpkin Show. Then after that Hope and I cruised the city and acted like total fools and made a bunch of strangers stare and laugh, overall a very good evening.

It is so nice sometimes just to get out and forget everything. Forget who you are and just let yourself be “in the moment” to not care who’s watching and to not care who’s judging you, but to let your true self show. Comes to find out that I am a pretty funny person when I am not all worried about what people think. That’s how I wish I could live everyday. I get so hung up on other people’s opinions of myself, and that has to stop.

So anyways, nothing else new. I am just busy like normal. I think though we’re getting a group together to hang around the city of Columbus on either Friday or Saturday, so give me a call this week or e-mail me and we can either possibly get together.

So, I am going to run now. I have e-mails to write before I go to bed.

Well the Epic devotional is on hold for a few days. I am preparing for my ACTs this Saturday, and have had little time to do much but eat, sleep, and study. So, let me just post to say what is going on right now.< ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Well, I have been out of town ever weekend for two weeks. Finally this weekend I am going to be in town and have my ACTs, so that leaves about half of my weekend gone. I think a group from < ?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Columbus is going to get together and go to the Circleville Pumpkin Show.

Speaking of Circleville, I might as well rant here. I am not all too happy right now with the media department at church. I received a phone call this week asking me if I was working on the video for Sunday. Now, last time I heard, that video was canned due to the fact that our pastor went a different direction for the series, therefore the video we were producing wouldn’t fit the service. Also, being gone for two weeks on trips, you don’t have much time to write, film, and edit a video… do you? So, the news is, is that there isn’t a video for Sunday. I haven’t had the time, and with 0 help, it isn’t getting done.

Also it kinds of irks me about my “friends” at church. The only time I hear from them anymore is when they call me because A. They want me to fix their computer (for free) B. Something broke at church, and they need me to fix it or C. They need to borrow something from me. Yeah, pretty much, I have become a resource for them and not a friend. It has been over a month since I’ve even been invited to hang out with them. So, I’ve taken the hint that they no longer want me around. So, I’ve decided if they don’t want me around, then they don’t need me around when they need something either.

I get tired of always being used in life. One of the reasons I hate being a computer person. Almost everyone has a computer and they’re always looking for a free handout when it comes to fixing them. It irritates me; I mean you wouldn’t take your computer to CompUSA or Micro Center and ask, “Will you fix this for free?” Why anything less should be expected of me? I mean, I paid for my certificaitons; I’ve worked hard to gain the knowledge that I have. Pretty much unless you’re a real friend of mine, this free computer crap is going to stop.

Well, that is my weekly rant. Sorry you all had to read it. Take note… you use me, and you can say goodbye to me. I don’t think that God said, “Thou shout be used in life.” So, I don’t have to take it anymore.

Well, I hope that you all have a great evening and weekend! I will try and post later and to let you know what is going on.

Today’s Thought – “What is your part in the Epic story God’s telling?”

< ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Greetings Everyone,

Well for my die-hard readers, I am going to begin a small devotional on this website. I want to share with you a piece of the Catalyst Conference by bringing you a few devotionals written from the book that the conference theme was based on; Epic – The Story God Is Telling and the Role That Is Yours To Play by John Eldridge.

I am beginning to read the book tomorrow, and will then begin bringing you devotionals based on this book. They’re all written from my heart and with God’s help. I hope that you can get something out of them. If you happen to read one and enjoy it or it makes you think, please comment. This helps me know that somewhere out there God’s used me to touch another one of his children.

So today I want to introduce my thought and the process of what I am going to do for the next week or so. On a personal level, I am trying to make each day an epic. I’ve thrown out that structured personality of me and thrown everything in the wind and given it all to God. I must say, I can’t be more happy. Life’s a daily adventure and I am playing a role in the larger Epic adventure that God’s telling.

So to leave you with something to read. Here are the lyrics to Tim McGraw’s new song, “Live Like You Were Dying”. Please take a moment to read these powerful lyrics. They have such a wonderful message. I personally have decided this is what I want to be able to tell people, that daily, I “live like I am dying”.

Live Like You Were Dying

Tim McGraw

He said I was in my early forties with a lot of life before me

when a moment came that stopped me on a dime

and I spent most of the next days

looking at the x-rays

Talking bout the options

and talking bout sweet time

I asked him when it sank in

that this might really be the real end

how’s it hit you when you get that kinda news

man what’d you do

and he said

I went sky diving

I went Rocky Mountain climbing

I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named fumanchu

and I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter

and I gave forgiveness I’d been denying

and he said someday I hope you get the chance

to live like you were dying.

He said I was finally the husband

that most the time I wasn’t

and I became a friend a friend would like to have

and all the sudden going fishin’

wasn’t such an imposition

and I went three times that year I lost my dad

well I finally read the good book

and I took a good long hard look

at what I’d do if I could do it all again

and then

I went sky diving

I went Rocky Mountain climbing

I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named fumanchu

and I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter

and I gave forgiveness I’d been denying

and he said someday I hope you get the chance

to live like you were dying.

Like tomorrow was a gift and you got eternity to think about

what’d you do with it what did you do with it

what did I do with it

what would I do with it?

Sky diving

I went Rocky Mountain climbing

I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named fumanchu

and then I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter

and I watched an eagle as it was flying

and he said someday I hope you get the chance

to live like you were dying.

To live like you were dying

To live like you were dying

To live like you were dying

To live like you were dying

I hope that you take those words to heart. If you would like to purchase the song, you can do so at http://www.wal-mart.com for $0.88 per song.

Blessings,

J
